Because You Never Asked

Because You Never Asked originates from Roger White’s decade-long family archival project, collecting stories of his grandmother Marianna Clark’s experiences living under the Nazi regime and eventually fleeing to the UK as a refugee. Blending a haunting soundscape—featuring recorded conversations between grandmother and grandson—with evocative choreography that embodies memory, the piece serves as a cautionary tale against anti-immigrant narratives. The project was created by We All Fall Down Interdisciplinary Creations.
